ನಗರ ಯೋಜನೆಯು ಹವಾಮಾನ – ಸ್ಥಿತಿಸ್ಥಾಪಕತ್ವದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ರೂಪಿಸಬಲ್ಲದು?

ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್‌ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹವಾಮಾನ ಮುಂದಾಳುವಾದ ವಿನೋದಿನಿ ಎಸ್ ಯವರು ಸೇರಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಯುವಕರನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಸ್ಥಾಪಕತ್ವವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಜಲ ಪುನರುಜ್ಜೀವನ ಉಪಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ತಳಮಟ್ಟದ ಪರಿಸರ ಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಮನವನ್ನು ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ನಿರೂಪಕರಾದ ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥ್ ಎಸ್ (ಬಯೋಮ್) ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಗರ ಯೋಜನೆ, ಹವಾಮಾನ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಸ್ಥಿರತೆಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಗರ ಯೋಜನೆ ನೀರಿನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗಳು, ನಗರ ಚಲನಶೀಲತೆ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಹವಾಮಾನ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದರ ಮೇಲೂ ಅವರು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Vinodini S is a Climate Leader at SAMA Foundation. Vinodini is a climate leader deeply committed to serving her urban community with the SAMA foundation, a local organization focused on self-discipline and sustainable growth. 

Hailing from an area where thousands of households face significant challenges related to basic necessities like access to clean water, Vinodini has become a driving force in tackling climate change and empowering young leaders in her community.

Over the past year, she worked as a climate leader with the support of Restless Development and biome, where her efforts centered on mapping and engaging youth aged 17 and above.

She played a pivotal role in rejuvenating a long-neglected community well, which for years had been filled with garbage and sewage. Collaborating with restless development, biome, sama foundation, and motivated youth, vinodini led a months-long initiative to restore clean water access, transforming decision makers into community leaders. Her journey is just beginning.

Vinodini remains passionate about securing future funding to rejuvenate even more wells and ensure continued access to safe water for all. She is grateful for the support received so far, and continues to dedicate herself to the well-being and resilience of her community.

ವಿನೋದಿನಿ ಎಸ್

ವಿನೋದಿನಿ ಎಸ್ ಅವರು ಸಮಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ನ ಹವಾಮಾನ ತಜ್ಞರು. ಅವರು ಸ್ವಯಂಶಾಸನ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕೃತವಾದ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ತಮ್ಮ ನಗರ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಹವಾಮಾನ ನಾಯಕತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶುದ್ಧ ನೀರಿನ ಲಭ್ಯತೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಸೌಕರ್ಯಗಳಿಲ್ಲದಂತಹ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮನೆಗಳಿರುವ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬಂದಿರುವ ವಿನೋದಿನಿ, ಹವಾಮಾನ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಎದುರಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಯುವ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನು ಸಬಲಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 

ರೆಸ್ಟ್ಲೆಸ್ ಡೆವಲಪ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬಯೋಮ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಬೆಂಬಲದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹವಾಮಾನ ನಾಯಕಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ ಇವರು, 17 ವರ್ಷ ತುಂಬಿದ ಯುವಕರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಹವಾಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 

ಹಲವಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕಸ ಮತ್ತು ಒಳಚರಂಡಿ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಹಳೆಯ ಬಾವಿಯನ್ನು ಪುನರುಜ್ಜೀವನಗೊಳಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವಹಿಸಿದ ಇವರು, ರೆಸ್ಟ್ಲೆಸ್ ಡೆವಲಪ್ಮೆಂಟ್, ಬಯೋಮ್, ಸಾಮಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಇವರಿಂದ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ಪಡೆದ ಯುವಕರ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ, ವಿನೋದಿನಿ ಅವರು ಶುದ್ಧ ನೀರಿನ ಲಭ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವ ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳ ಅಭಿಯಾನವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿದರು, ಇದರ ಮೂಲಕ ತೀರ್ಮಾನ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಹೊಂದಿರುವವರನ್ನು ಸಮುದಾಯದ ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿ ರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.

ಅವರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಈಗಷ್ಟೇ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ. ವಿನೋದಿನಿ ಅವರು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಬಾವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪುನರುಜ್ಜೀವನಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ನೀರು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಸಿಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದತ್ತಿನಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ಪಡೆದ ಸಹಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಬಲಕ್ಕೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ತಮ್ಮ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯ ಬಲವರ್ಧನೆಗೆ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

 

Jaya Dhindaw

Jaya Dhindaw is Executive Program Director, Sustainable Cities and Director, WRI India Ross Center. With over two decades of international experience, Jaya Dhindaw steers the Sustainable Cities program at WRI India, advancing initiatives at the intersection of urban development, mobility, climate resilience, and planning. She provides strategic direction to teams driving national and sub-national reforms, building knowledge systems and partnerships, and delivering place-based interventions that connect global expertise with local needs.

Before joining WRI India, Jaya led the Urban Planning and Infrastructure Development team at the Centre for Infrastructure, Sustainable Transport and Urban Planning (CISTUP), Indian Institute of Science. She previously spent nearly a decade with the City of Charlotte, USA — first with the transit system and later with the planning department — where she spearheaded strategic plans, compact growth strategies, economic development efforts, and the overhaul of development regulations. Her earlier roles span consulting and public sector work on urban design, environmental planning, and regional economic strategy, across geographies and institutional contexts.

A systems thinker, Jaya is committed to enabling cities to craft structural, evidence-informed solutions to the challenges of urbanization and climate change. A widely published author, speaker, and podcaster, she is recognized for her work in advancing sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready urban transitions..

In addition to her role at WRI India, Jaya serves as Managing Associate Editor of the Journal of Sustainable Urbanization, Planning and Progress (Whioce Publishing), and is on the advisory board of Tech India Advocates.

ಜಯ ದಿಂಡಾ  ಅವರು ಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂಆರ್‌ಐ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ರಾಸ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ ನ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಇದರ. ಸಸ್ಟೈನಬಲ್ ಸಿಟೀಸ್ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕಾರೀ ಯೋಜನಾ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಅನುಭವ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ನಗರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ, ಸಾರಿಗೆ, ಹವಾಮಾನ ಸಹಿಷ್ಣುತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ನವೀನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಸಸ್ಟೈನಬಲ್ ಸಿಟೀಸ್ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪ-ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ತಂಡಗಳಿಗೆ ತಂತ್ರಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ನೀಡುವ ಇವರು, ಜ್ಞಾನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಹಸ್ತಕ್ಷೇಪಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಪರಿಣತಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಅಗತ್ಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೆಸೆಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 

ಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂಆರ್ ಐಗೆ ಸೇರುವ ಮೊದಲು, ಜಯಾ ಅವರು ಭಾರತೀಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ, ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಗರ ಯೋಜನೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ (CISTUP) ದಲ್ಲಿ ನಗರ ಯೋಜನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ತಂಡದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಜಯಾ ಅವರು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿಕ ಚಿಂತಕಿ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ನಗರೀಕರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಹವಾಮಾನ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯ ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಧಾರಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ತರಬಲ್ಲ ಪರಿಹಾರಗಳನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಗರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಬಲಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು ಅವರ ಧ್ಯೇಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ವಿಸ್ತೃತವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರತರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಲೇಖಕಿ, ವಾಗ್ಮಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಡ್‌ಕಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ, ಸಮಾವೇಶಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಭವಿಷ್ಯೋನ್ಮುಖ ನಗರ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ತಮ್ಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮನ್ನಣೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
