Stormwater & the City is a 12-month initiative to develop an interactive digital dashboard that maps Bengaluru’s stormwater drainage network (rajakaluves) across physical, urban, and governance dimensions.
Stormwater & the City seeks to transform how Bengaluru understands and engages with its stormwater infrastructure by creating a user-friendly, open-source dashboard. Through physical and institutional mapping, the project will visualize drain typologies, catchment areas, and jurisdictional responsibilities. A citizen audit tool will allow residents to document flooding, water quality, and waste issues in their neighbourhoods. Supported by guided walks, and collaborative DataJams, the initiative promotes transparency, participation, and shared responsibility for making the city more flood-resilient and climate-ready.
