Conversations with Trees is an invitation to listen to the voices of urban trees, to collective narratives to the possibilities of collaborative stewardship in the face of ecological crisis.Conversation with Trees is an experiential audio-theatre experience designed with place-based community participation in Bengaluru through lens of citizen science and scaffolded stewardship.
If the trees around you had a voice, what would they say? Would they tell you stories of where they are from? Would they whine about being planted there? Or have a dark (shadowy?) sense of humour?
How do we bring the science of trees alive through imaginative, narrative storytelling?
How do we create opportunities for communities to become stewards of the ecology around them?
Conversation with Trees is an interdisciplinary, immersive audio theatre project that is sensorial, participatory, and experiential. It empowers a learning community and its neighbourhood to co-design audio narratives that reveal the ecological roles and cultural significance of urban trees in the face of climate change.
